TORONTO, Jan. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Strategic Element has today announced that it has completed business plan submissions for several U.S. companies to raise over $200 million in funding under the EB-5 program in the U.S.
The EB-5 program, designed to stimulate job creation and foreign investment, allows approved businesses to solicit multiple $1-million investments from foreign investors in exchange for conditional green cards provided each investment effectively creates 10 jobs.
The program is responsible for over $2 billion in foreign investment and creating tens of thousands of jobs since 1993, "but that number is about to change drastically", says company President Phil Cohen. "the number of EB-5s has almost doubled in the last two years".
