OTTAWA, Jan. 17, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Ski Hall of Fame and Museum has found a new home after two years of deliberation and negotiation. The final proposals were reviewed and voted upon by the Board of Directors, resulting in a winning bid by St Jovite Mont Tremblant Region, Quebec.
The motion to select St Jovite Mont Tremblant Region was brought forward by a Calgary-based Director, and the Board supported the motion unanimously.
"Tremblant's bid reached the podium because of overwhelming community support," said Chris Edgell, CSHFM Director. "There was also consensus that the St Jovite Mont Tremblant Region represents one of Canada's cradles of ski culture and racing folklore."
The decision will see more than 15,000 artifacts from Canada's ski history once again on display for all Canadians to share.
The membership will vote on the Board's recommendation in the coming weeks.
