TORONTO, Jan. 3, 2012 /CNW/ - Global's ET Canada, the nation's most trusted entertainment news source, garnered 629,000 (national 2+) viewers last Saturday night for its 3RD annual nationally broadcast New Year's Eve at Niagara Falls special.
Hosted by Cheryl Hickey and Rick Campanelli, the two-hour live broadcast was up 9% (Adults 18-49) from last year with viewership peaking at 12:01am with 1.9 million viewers with a total reach of 4.8 million (2+ national).
The jam-packed show featured performances from Simple Plan, Our Lady Peace, The Sheepdogs, Keshia Chanté and a surprise guest performance by Chantal Kreviazuk. Plus, with ET Canada's massive and loyal Twitter following, the show successfully integrated social media commentary. Tweets using the #ETCNYE hashtag were broadcast throughout the night which resulted as a trending topic that evening.
