CAMPUT Announces 2010 Award for Innovation and Leadership

MONTREAL, May 5 /CNW/ - CAMPUT, an association of Canada's energy regulators, has announced the winner of the 2010 CAMPUT Award for Innovation and Leadership. The 2010 CAMPUT Award was presented at the organization's 2010 Annual Conference in Montréal, Québec.
The CAMPUT Award for Innovation and Leadership was presented to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (NS UARB), for its "Integrated Electronic Case Management, Document Management and Electronic Hearing Project". The project, completed in 2009, combines:
- An interactive website which offers real time access to evidence and
key case information;
- A secure, web-based repository for filing and accessing confidential
documents by authorized parties;
- A comprehensive database which allows collection of key case
information and all types of electronic files, and
- A fully electronic hearing room integrating sound amplification,
electronic display of information of all types, lighting, digital
recording of proceedings and wireless access to both networks and the
internet.
The CAMPUT Awards Committee for 2010 comprises:
- Darlene Whalen, Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities of
Newfoundland and Labrador (Committee Chair)
- Richard Carrier, Régie de l'énergie du Québec
- Roland George, National Energy Board
- Kirk Janes, Nunavut Utility Rates Review Council
- Brian Williston, British Columbia Utilities Commission
In announcing the Award, CAMPUT Chair Cynthia Chaplin said, "Through its innovative use of the latest technology, in a user-friendly environment, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board has demonstrated CAMPUT's commitment to improving public utility regulation in Canada."
