VANCOUVER, June 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Campaign Chair, Scott Wells announced the launch of the www.goingstrong.ca website designed to inform everyone about the new and exciting 60th Anniversary 'Going Strong' Campaign. Over the years, hundreds of Kinsmen both past and present, throughout the Province of BC, have given support to the Foundation in the delivery of support/services to people with physical disabilities.
As part of the celebration, the Kinsmen Foundation of BC wants to locate everyone who was a member of the Kinsmen Family over the past 60 years. We are "Calling all Kin." In particular, we are looking for all past "Marching Mothers" who assisted in the Annual Kinsmen's Mothers March held each year to raise funds throughout the province. In order to help us find current and former members of Kin - there is a 'drop-down' menu on our website entitled "Calling All Kin." Click on that menu and it will help you register with the Foundation. Or if you wish, you can go to www.callingallkin.ca and fill in the questions.
We'd like to find all members of the Kin Family and let you know how the Foundation is doing and how you can help.
For 60 years the Kinsmen Foundation of BC has served the needs of people with physical disabilities. The Foundation was initially established to find a cure for the dreaded disease, polio. When that cure was found, the Foundation then moved into the area of rehabilitation for post-polio survivors and other people with physical disabilities. The Mission of the Kinsmen Foundation is to support many worthwhile organizations and individuals facing the daily challenges of living with a severe physical disability and improve their quality of life and independence.
