TORONTO, April 2, 2013 /CNW/ - In Monday night's third episode of season three of Top Chef Canada on Food Network Canada, the 13 remaining chefs were divided into groups to create dishes for different food service categories - dining room, café and bar - at the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel. Internationally-acclaimed chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud joined as guest judge for the challenge. Calgary chef Nicole Gomes (originally from Richmond, BC) impressed the judges with her pappardelle funghi, which Daniel Boulud commended for her use of simple, good ingredients. Vancouver chef Clement Chan was sent home for his duck ravioli which Head Judge Mark McEwan described as a "posy, pretty plate, with not so much cooking involved."

In the Quickfire Challenge the chefs were tasked with creating the best vegan dish for George Stroumboulopoulos (George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight), who has recently adopted a whole food, plant-based diet. Chef Daniel Hudson (Duncan, BC) won George over with his roasted red pepper and tomato gazpacho and received immunity in the Elimination Challenge.

In a sneak peek of next week's episode on Mon., April 8 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, the chefs create a special take on donuts for chef Devin Connell of Paulette's Original Donuts and Chicken. Later, chef Elizabeth Falkner (The Next Iron Chef: Redemption and Krescendo in NYC) serves as guest judge in the Elimination Challenge along with guest taster, 7-time WWE Champion, fitness icon and entrepreneur, Trish Stratus in which the chefs must create a healthy and balanced meal for a local roller derby match.
