TORONTO, April 16, 2012 /CNW/ - The Building Industry and Land Development Association's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Bryan W. Tuckey as President and CEO, effective May 22, 2012.
"Bryan comes to BILD with more than 20 years of senior management experience at all three levels of government in Ontario. He is recognized as a strategic thinker, a dynamic leader and a professional with integrity who focuses on finding solutions while maintaining strong relationships," said BILD Chairman Paul Golini Jr.
Bryan has a history of collaboration with BILD and the Ontario Home Builders' Association (OHBA) through his past roles as York Region's Commissioner of Planning and Development Services, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Director of Community Planning at the City of Toronto and the former City of North York. He has a broad skill set that will enable him to lead and be the face of the Association, its members and staff.
"The BILD Board is confident that he will bring a renewed passion and vision for the continued success of the Association," Golini added.
BILD engaged recruitment firm Odgers Berndtson to launch an international search for a new President and CEO at the end of last year, following the sudden passing of Stephen Dupuis in September 2011.
The Board of Directors wishes to thank all BILD members for their continued support throughout this process and expresses gratitude to Joe Vaccaro, OHBA COO, who stepped up and took on the additional role of BILD Acting President over the last six months providing stability and continuity when it was most needed.
With more than 1,350 members, BILD, formed through the merger of the Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association and Urban Development Institute/Ontario, is the voice of the land development, home building and professional renovation industry in the Greater Toronto Area. BILD is proudly affiliated with the Ontario and Canadian Home Builders' Associations.
