- Just in time for 'Divorce Day,' a new "first of its kind" online network launches in Canada
TORONTO, Jan. 4, 2016 /CNW/ - First came love, then came marriage, and now the decision to divorce is on the table for more than 40 percent of Canadians. Divorce Angels is a "first of its kind" online support network for men and women going through a breakup who are looking for guidance. On "Divorce Day," the first Monday in January, and the unofficial date when many couples consider breaking up, Toronto-based Divorce Angels is unveiling its new service.
Divorce Angels is a free online resource that offers both a community as well as tools to search through a list of vetted professionals with a proven track record for success in an amazingly wide array of fields that all support the divorce process. Featuring more than 125 experts, the site covers the gamut of top ranked professionals to niche specialists including family lawyers, financial planners, mediators, business valuators, real estate agents, career coaches, matchmakers, personal trainers, private investigators and break up coaches.
"There are many websites for people getting married, and having babies, but there's nothing available for people going through divorce," said co-founder Marni Sky. "Our goal is to help you take a step in the right direction with your friends, family, finances, health, appearance and sanity intact, all while saving you time and money."
Beyond a list of professionals is the important ability to join a conversation so people do not feel like they are alone, or without people who truly understand. Through compelling blogs, live chats and relevant events, the site is a destination for shell-shocked people looking to connect to others struggling through the heartaches, anger and fears that come with the divorce process. The Divorce Angels site is also loaded with information and promotions from suppliers offering to ease the financial burden.
"By offering valuable resources and a community all under one roof, Divorce Angels has taken a very forward thinking approach to one of life's most complicated and stressful situations," said Arlene Dickinson, Canadian entrepreneur, venture capitalist, author, and television personality.
Divorce Angels was founded by Ms. Sky and sisters Mara Marcello and Shari Wagman. All long-time friends, they have drawn on their personal experiences to create a support network that functions as an extension of their shared experiences of helping people going through divorce. Their goal is to lighten the load, get people connected and enable them to make the right choices as they move through a transition, with greater ease, clarity of mind and confidence.
