BMW Canada sales up 50% in September

New September sales for BMW and BMW Pre-Owned

WHITBY, ON, Oct. 1 /CNW/ - BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI Brands combined) sales were up 36.4 per cent in September, which represented a total of 2,742 vehicle sales. Year-to-date sales for BMW Group Canada are 21,711 units, up 2.2 per cent compared to the same period last year.

BMW Brand: Best September on record for BMW sales.

The BMW brand sales were up 50 per cent in September, setting a new September sales record. There were 2,402 units retailed in September 2009 . Year-to-date, BMW sales are up 5.7 per cent to 18,483 units.

New products like the BMW Z4 and X6 led the way in sales increases for September. Sales of the new BMW Z4 roadster with a retractable hardtop roof were up 275 per cent in September compared to sales of the previous generation Z4 last September. The BMW X6, with the addition of the BMW X6 M model, saw a sales increase of 147 per cent compared to September 2009 .

MINI Brand.

In September, 340 MINIs were sold, down 17 per cent compared to September 2008 . Year to date, 3,228 MINIs have been sold, down 14.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2008.

BMW Motorrad.

BMW Motorrad Canada sold 100 units in September, representing a 22.8 per cent decrease in sales over last year. Year-to-date sales are up 13.4 per cent compared to September 2008 . So far this year, BMW Motorrad has retailed 1,645 motorcycles in Canada .

Pre-Owned: Best September Sales on Record for BMW Pre-Owned.

Year-to-date total BMW Pre-Owned sales are up 16.2 per cent over the previous year with 8,110 units sold. Of those units, 6,682 were BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned, which represents a 15.6 per cent increase over the same period last year.

Total BMW Pre-Owned sales were up 14.9 per cent in September to 970 units, setting a September sales record. BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned sales were up 5.4 per cent in September 2009 , amounting to 744 units sold.
