ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 11, 2015 /CNW/ -- Bloomberg BNA today announced that it will host two global tax conferences with Baker & McKenzie in Toronto, Canada. The International Tax Conference: Canada and Beyond will take place October 14, followed by the second annual Global Transfer Pricing Conference: Toronto October 15-16. The two events will offer one of the first comprehensive public discussions of the OECD's final work on its Action Plan on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), expected for delivery to the G-20 shortly before the conferences. Both conferences take place at the Park Hyatt Toronto Yorkville and registration is available here.
"These conferences provide one of the earliest opportunities for open and comprehensive discussion of the OECD's final work on its BEPS Action Plan," said Molly Moses, Transfer Pricing Editor for Bloomberg BNA Tax & Accounting. "This tremendously ambitious project will fundamentally change multinationals' tax planning and operations in Canada, the United States, and across the globe. Representatives from the OECD, the business community and government will help attendees interpret the newly-released action items and figure out the best strategies for complying."
The International Tax Conference: Canada and Beyond will cover a range of tax issues for companies doing business in Canada, examine non-transfer pricing items under the BEPS Action Plan, and focus on more technical, Canadian-specific tax issues. The agenda will also address the need for multinationals to consider the impact of BEPS on indirect taxes, the Canadian tax implications of transferring employees to and from Canada, and how to navigate the maze of Canadian tax rules that pertain to intra-group financing arrangements.
The Global Transfer Pricing Conference: Toronto will offer comprehensive analysis of the BEPS changes affecting transfer pricing; intangible property planning; designing, implementing, and maintaining a supply chain structure in a post-BEPS world; the impact of BEPS on audits and controversies; intercompany financing; and doing business in emerging economies. The conference will also cover the current state of APA and MAP programs and relationships between selected treaty partners along with the anticipated impacts of BEPS.
Featured speakers at the conferences include:
- Andrew Hickman, Head of Transfer Pricing Unit, OECD
- The Honorable Frank J. Pizzitelli, Judge, Tax Court of Canada
- Brian Jenn, Attorney Advisor, U.S. Department of Treasury (Office of Tax Policy)
- Carlos Perez Gomez, Director of Transfer Pricing Examinations, Mexico Tax Administration Service
- Carol Doran Klein, Vice President and International Tax Counsel, U.S. Council for International Business
The conferences are conducted in association with the Tax Management Educational Institute. Conference registration is available here.
