Blackbird Group Announces Record Growth for 2011

NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2012 /CNW/ - Blackbird Group, a leader in automation and compliance management, announced outstanding results today for the year 2011. This continues its history of strong, profitable growth, driven by innovation and a customer-focused culture. Among its achievements for the year are major industry awards, new product launches, and increased media attention. All of which contributed to revenue growth of 110%, compared to the previous year, as well as a significant increase in its customer base and the number of seats under its management.

In 2011, Blackbird was honored to be chosen by Microsoft Corporation as a member of the U.S. ISV Managed Partner Program in the High Potential ISV Group. This is a coveted distinction achieved by less than 1% of all U.S.-based ISV partners. This further validates Blackbird's focus on satisfaction and developing strong long-term relationships with customers and partners alike. The result is a renewal rate in excess of 98%.

Products and Technology

Blackbird expanded its product line in 2011 with the launch of two new audit and compliance focused modules for the Blackbird Management Suite of products Blackbird Auditor for File System provides scalable and flexible real-time auditing of Windows file servers with powerful searching, reporting and alerting capabilities. Blackbird Event Vault consolidates Windows native log entries into a single on-premises or cloud-based repository for centralized management and reporting of all event log data.

Blackbird has a strong commitment to cloud computing and has made Event Vault the first of its products to be Azure-enabled. The company has plans to similarly enable its entire suite of products in the near future.

Industry and Media Recognition

The well known industry analyst, Craig Burton, of KuppingerCole, reviewing the Blackbird Management Suite, praised Blackbird's capabilities. "KuppingerCole strongly recommends the use of Blackbird Management Suite for Microsoft-centric organizations in order to provide business-critical services in an efficient way while providing information security and compliance."

In addition to the continued revenue growth and profitability, Blackbird achieved wide recognition in the industry for the effectiveness and value of its products. This recognition resulted in Blackbird winning, for the second year in a row, the gold award for the "2011 Editor's Best Awards" by Penton Media's Windows IT Pro magazine, this time in the Best Active Directory and Group Policy Product category.

Also this year, Redmond Magazine reviewed the Blackbird Management Suite and rated it with a score of 9.0 out of 10. "Blackbird stands alone in meeting IT's primary auditing use cases within a refreshingly unified framework," said author, Greg Shields.
