Bill Morneau kicks off his Toronto Centre campaign alongside Justin Trudeau and Kathleen Wynne
TORONTO, Aug. 18, 2015 /CNW/ - Yesterday evening Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, and Toronto Centre Liberal candidate Bill Morneau kicked off the campaign in Toronto Centre for the upcoming federal election.
"We are all here because we are inspired by Justin Trudeau and his leadership," said Bill Morneau to the crowd of over 600 enthusiastic supporters at Daniels Spectrum in the revitalized Regent Park. "We know that real leadership means you need to listen to Canadians, you need to understand the challenges, and you need solutions that will bring real change, growth, fairness and prosperity to this country".
Cheers then filled the room as Trudeau alongside Wynne took to the stage to share a vision of Canada and Ontario that included fairness for the middle class, better cooperation between all levels of government, and change that would make a real difference in the lives of all Canadians.
Trudeau also kicked off the Toronto campaigns by introducing the extraordinary team of candidates that have come together under his leadership to run in downtown Toronto ridings, including Dr. Carolyn Bennet, Chrystia Freeland, Adam Vaughan, and Bill Morneau.
"He understands business and economics deeply, but always through the lens of how it impacts on people" said the Liberal Leader about Bill Morneau, who currently runs Canada's largest human resources firm, "He is an extraordinary economic thinker and leader who fundamentally understands something Stephen Harper never has, that people are at the center of any economy".
