FRANKFURT, Germany and CALGARY, AB, March 1, 2012 /CNW/ - One logistics specialist, eight national teams, numerous suppliers, athletes and team members: Behind the IBU Biathlon Cup in Canadian city Canmore (http://www.canmorebiathlon.com) is one of the logistics masterpieces of the German sport logistics specialist Conceptum (http://www.conceptum-sport-logistics.com). "It takes more than a parcel service to transport sensitive sports equipment to the venues. Integrated cultural project logistics go beyond transport and therefore includes support for the teams as well," says Sebastian Stahl, Conceptum CEO. At the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Conceptum will manage the logistics for a number of committees and sports associations.
The Frankfurt-based company specializes in industrial and cultural project logistics. The portfolio includes flights and rental cars for the teams as well.
Simultaneously to the IBU Cup another challenge had to be mastered: the FIBT World Cup (http://www.bobsleigh.ca) taking place in Calgary. Therefore eight semi-trailers took the equipment first to Calgary and afterwards to the World Championship in Lake Placid. Subsequently the logistic team has just five days to transport 30 bobsleds, team and timing equipment to Sochi, Russia, where the 2014 Olympic Games will take place.
The mission in Sochi: The homologation of the race track. All bobsleds and the team equipment have to be at the venue - without any delay. Conceptum has already explored the location at Sochi and by summer 2012 a local office will be established. "We are partner to the teams, associations and to the athletes. Our services allow them to concentrate on the competition. Detailed knowledge of the local conditions is part of it." says Stahl. With its comprehensive logistics network and offices around the globe, Conceptum Sport Logistics brings experience and courage for tailored solutions to the field of culture and sports.
