VANCOUVER, July 25, 2017 /CNW/ - Josh Murray, former Senior Editor of American Idol Magazine and author of American Idol: The Journey to Stardom, celebrates the greatest pop divas of the past 30 years in a new book available exclusively on iTunes. Beyoncé Smells like Unicorns and Other Tales of the World's Pop Divas is part-memoir, part-trivia tome and part-entertainment report.
From Gaga to Mimi, Riri to Cher, music's most successful divas have colorful stories behind their biggest hits, biggest crowds and biggest feuds. Murray shares famous facts, hushed-up tales and first-person accounts in this collection. "From the time I accidentally sniffed Beyoncé's hair to Madonna's R-rated attack by a famous colleague; my tequila shot with Queen Latifah to the fact Whitney couldn't dance, it's all there in tribute," says Murray. "I hope it adds to public discourse, brightening up a stale dinner party or two."
The book's foreword was authored by actress Katharine Isabelle of E! Entertainment Television's The Arrangement, NBC's Hannibal and the films Insomnia, Freddy Vs. Jason, Ginger Snaps and American Mary. She is also the book's biggest fan on social media – not to mention Murray's sister. "The random facts and juicy stories about the world's biggest pop divas that my brother whisper-screams at me somewhere over the Atlantic? Now they can be your random facts and juicy stories in flight," jokes Isabelle.
"It's perfect for a lazy day at the beach or a long-haul voyage – light, breezy and full of escapist fun," says Murray.
"Find a pool, pour a drink and dive in," adds Isabelle.
