From Most Historic Hotel to Best View, Voting for First-Ever Best Western Fan Awards Live on Facebook
PHOENIX, Aug. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Best Western International is calling on travelers to cast their vote on the Best Western Facebook page to select winners of the first-ever Best Western Fan Awards, which will recognize some of the most unique and impressive hotels worldwide from Best Western's portfolio of more than 4,000 hotels in 100 countries.

Offering photos of some of Best Western's most iconic and one-of-a-kind properties from around the globe, the Fan Awards open for voting on August 28 at www.facebook.com/bestwestern and runs through September 16. Votes can be cast for one of five finalist hotels in the following categories:
- Most Unique Hotel
- Most Historic Hotel
- Most Beautiful Hotel Setting
- Best View from a Hotel Room
- Most Impressive Lobby
- Most Impressive Guest Room
- Most Unique Guest Room

Finalists for the Best Western Fan Awards range from the guestrooms overlooking the scenic Amalfi Coast at the Best Western Hotel Marmorata in Ravello, Italy and the historic BEST WESTERN PLUS Swan Hotel in Wells, Great Britain located next to the Wells Cathedral, to the impressive BEST WESTERN PREMIER Vedic Village Spa Resort which offers five-star luxury across 150 acres of beautiful woodland and waterscapes in West Bengal, India and the unique BEST WESTERN Movie Manor in Monte Vista, Colo. that allows guests to watch a drive-in movie from the comfort of their hotel room.
To celebrate the Fan Awards and recognize the millions of guests who stay with Best Western each year, Best Western will reward one lucky Best Western Rewards Member with a trip to one of the seven award winning hotels. The winner will be chosen at random from among all Best Western Rewards Members – travelers not currently enrolled in Best Western Rewards can sign up for free at www.bestwesternrewards.com.
All nominations were reviewed by a panel of industry experts, including representatives from TripAdvisor; the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) in the U.S., Canada and Brazil; ARC Europe; and the American Automobile Association (AAA) and Canadian Automobile Association (CAA). The panel of judges reviewed hundreds of hotel entries to select the five finalists in each category.

Voters can vote for their favorite finalist hotels in each category once a day through September 16 on the Best Western Facebook page. Winners of the Best Western Fan Awards will be announced on Facebook after the voting period ends.
