TORONTO, May 21, 2012 /CNW/ - The Building Owners and Managers Association of the Greater Toronto Area (BOMA Toronto) celebrated building and management excellence at its 14th annual awards gala at the historic Fairmont Royal York Hotel on May 10, 2012. (See winners).
BOMA Toronto Chair, Neil Lacheur, presented the Association's prestigious awards, alongside special presenter new BOMA Canada President & CEO, Benjamin Shinewald, and BOMA Toronto President & CEO, Chris Conway. "These buildings are the best of the best in property management" said Chris Conway, "many of our buildings go on to compete at the national and international levels." Approximately 500 industry professionals attended the event.
The BOMA Toronto Awards program recognizes excellence in buildings, their management teams and individuals and companies that have contributed to the betterment of the Association, the commercial real estate industry and the environment. The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) is awarded to the top scoring building in various building categories within the BOMA Toronto Certificate of Excellence Program. The Earth Award recognizes buildings and their teams for excellence in environmental management in the real estate industry and the Pinnacle Award for Innovation, Customer Service and Above and Beyond are awarded to buildings and management teams that set standards to which all BOMA members should aspire. Winners that meet National requirements will be eligible to continue on in the BOMA Canada and BOMA International Awards programs.
