Top two electronics retailers seeking talented employees to fill newly created IT positions
- Estimated 70 per cent increase in headcount for both Best Buy Canada and Future Shop IT teams this year
- Growth driven by in-sourcing key strategic roles and reduce time to market for new technologies
- Transforming the Enterprise to a Virtual Desktop and PYOC (Pick Your Own Computer) Program fuel need for more positions
BURNABY, BC, Sept. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Canada's two top consumer electronics retailers, Best Buy Canada and Future Shop are seeking talented people to fill new roles supporting their IT strategies. Exponential growth in the IT area has been driven by the company's in-sourcing of key strategic roles, while rapidly expanding technology solutions to better serve customers and employees. Internally, a company transformation to a Virtual Desktop and PYOC (Pick Your Own Computer) Program for employees has also fuelled the creation of new IT roles.
Already experiencing significant growth, the Best Buy Canada and Future Shop IT team has doubled in head count over the past twelve months, with a forecast to triple in size by the end of this year. The majority of this growth has been in new roles in the areas of Technology Infrastructure, Application Development and Maintenance.
"We're at the cusp of a significant IT Transformation to better serve our customers and provide the best solutions. Our Best Buy Canada and Future Shop IT team is working on exciting projects to ensure continued leadership and innovation in retail," said Chris Covell, Chief Technology Officer, for Best Buy Canada and Future Shop. "We're looking for bright, energetic individuals who want to work in a fun, fast-paced, results-driven work environment."
New roles include System Engineers, Analysts, Administrators, End-User Support, Solution Leads, Technical Specialists and many others found at http://bit.ly/Ti1MsY.
