TORONTO, April 10, 2019 /CNW/ - The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) is warning consumers that Benito Allison is not licensed to conduct mortgage business in Ontario.
Benito Allison, also known as Ben Allison, Ben Alliston, and Bini Del Rosso appears to be soliciting mortgage business without a licence. Benito Allison is not licensed with FSCO.
Benito Allison appears to be using telephone numbers 647-545-9765 and 905-453-7427. He also appears to be using the email address [email protected].
FSCO is also warning consumers that Benito Allison operates the company 2557311 Ontario Inc., which appears to be associated with the company Money That Works. 2557311 Ontario Inc. and Money That Works are not licensed to conduct mortgage business in Ontario.
Money That Works and 2557311 Ontario Inc. appear to be using the street address 205-10 Gillingham DR Brampton, ON L6X 5A5, the phone number 905-453-7427, and the email address [email protected].
Consumers should exercise caution if they are contacted by anyone using these names, anyone from these companies, or anyone from these coordinates. Consumers are also advised not to obtain mortgage products arranged through Benito Allison. In addition, consumers should not apply for a mortgage or loans through 2557311 Ontario Inc. or Money That Works, but instead are encouraged to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
It is important to note that if consumers obtain a mortgage through individuals or companies not licensed by FSCO, they are not protected under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act and its regulations that govern Ontario's licensed brokerages, brokers and agents.
Consumers may check if a mortgage brokerage, broker or agent is licensed on FSCO's website.
