100% fibre optic network is the most advanced technology delivering the best Internet and TV to homes in Fredericton, coming soon to Saint John
FREDERICTON, Dec. 16 /CNW/ - Bell Aliant today announced the next level of FibreOP residential services with a 60 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload Internet service available in January 2010.
"This new FibreOP Internet service offers an even faster option with unprecedented download and upload speeds, both of which are crucial for the fastest two-way ultimate broadband experience," said Kelly Duplisea, VP Customer Solutions, Bell Aliant. "The ability for customers to upload quickly is a tremendous advantage, and we're proud to continue to offer the best Internet experience for our customers."
Upload is the measure of how fast content is delivered from your computer to others on the Internet. Customers can send email, share photos and videos with their family and friends instantly - share a High Definition video in seconds. FibreOP Internet's upload speeds will also provide a much better experience for customers who use video chat and online gaming.
Bell Aliant is the first in Canada to cover an entire city with fibre to the home (FTTH) technology, and bring a 100% fibre optic network directly to customers' homes. Fibre to the home is an advanced broadband network that provides the ultimate experience for Internet and video services, including High Definition television. It is the ideal architecture to enable the growing bandwidth needs of customers.
FibreOP services were launched earlier this year when Bell Aliant announced that with the support of the Government of New Brunswick, it would invest $60 million to serve 70,000 homes and businesses in Fredericton and Saint John by mid 2010. FibreOP Internet and FibreOP TV are now available in Fredericton, and will be coming soon to Saint John.
