BDO merges with Interis Consulting Inc. to lead Ottawa-based government services practice and Montreal-based financial services practice

TORONTO, Feb. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - BDO Canada LLP is pleased to announce its merger with Interis Consulting Inc., a leading management consulting firm with operations in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Edmonton. Interis's team of more than 50 professionals has over 16 years of experience providing planning and performance, transformation and change, and risk and compliance services. As one of the leading accounting and advisory firms in Canada, BDO is focused on continuously enhancing its comprehensive suite of advisory services to meet the growing needs of its clients.

Interis has in-depth experience serving public sector clients, including federal and provincial agencies, Crown corporations, public service organizations, and municipalities. The Interis team's years of experience and industry knowledge will help lead BDO's Ottawa-based government services practice. The service line combines BDO's strong foundation in serving public sector clients with Interis's full spectrum of services to help organizations improve performance, implement change and manage risk. Interis, a winner of the Employees' Choice Awards by the Ottawa Business Journal, will continue to serve its clients with its team as it begins integration into BDO.

Interis also specializes in the financial services sector, working with banks, financial cooperatives, insurance and asset management companies. Its Montreal-based team will expand BDO's capabilities and resources to offer additional services to clients in the financial services sector in Quebec.

Interis's team in Ottawa joins BDO's existing assurance, accounting, tax and advisory practice in the city. This merger significantly increases BDO's team and range of expertise in the nation's capital and surrounding areas with a combined team of over 100 partners and professionals. BDO's Montreal office will expand to over 200 partners and professionals with the addition of the local Interis team. In addition to its current markets, Interis will expand its services into other BDO locations in Canada.
