BMO Financial Group Helped Utility Leader Instill Spend Controls During $6.5 Billion Infrastructure Upgrade
ISM's 95th Annual International Supply Management Conference - SAN DIEGO, April 26 /CNW/ - BC Hydro's acting chief procurement officer (CPO) will discuss his team's procure-to-pay strategy that is successfully supporting significant capital investments at ISM's Annual Supply Management Conference today.
Three years ago, BC Hydro, one of Canada's largest electric utilities, faced a major challenge: it had outsourced procurement and realized it needed to support major infrastructure upgrades, which would more than double its annual non-energy spend. To meet this need, the utility quickly ramped up an integrated internal and external team to bring significant spend under control including a partnership with BMO Spend & Payment Solutions for its Corporate Card spend.
Acting CPO Tony Morris, who leads the utility's procurement will detail his strategy to transform decentralized procurement procedures into a streamlined process, instill spend analysis, and enforce organizational compliance through procurement card (p-card) programs and online procurement.
