MONTREAL, March 3, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - AV&R Vision & Robotics, a Montreal company specialized in automation for the aerospace industry, and IMAC Automation, a Saint-Bruno company specialized in manufacturing automation and aluminum die casting equipment, announce today that they have successfully completed their merger. The result is the birth of AV&R, the largest aerospace industry robotics firm in the world and one of the largest engineering firms specialized in automation in Quebec.
AV&R will be led by Jean-Francois Dupont, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of AV&R Vision and Robotics. He succeeds Eric Beauregard who will continue to be involved as a member of the company's Board of Directors.
AV&R and IMAC Automation are uniting their strengths in order to offer more complete automation, robotics and machine (digital) vision solutions to their customers. The new group is comprised of a team of 120 people, including 80 engineering graduates, in its Old Montreal and Saint-Bruno offices.
This merger was made possible through the support of Fondaction CSN, financial partner since 2006, and by the financial contribution of the Solidarity Fund QFL.
AV&R now brings together the expertise that will enable it to improve its offer to its local and international clientele under three distinct brands:
- AV&R Aerospace adds integration services to its expertise in visual inspection and robotic finishing, going as far as automating a complete production line;
- AV&R Automation will also continue to serve existing customers in Quebec in their various sectors of activity, adding skills in machine (digital) vision and robotic finishing to its local offer.
- AV&R Die Casting benefits from the offer of secondary operations integration in inspection or in robotic finishing to its CADENCE 100T product and from the international notoriety of AV&R to shine a light on this innovative product.
The new AV&R group is broadening its international scope, as AV&R Vision & Robotics and IMAC Automation were both recognized references in the field of automation. For more information about AV&R: www.avr-global.com/en/
