CALGARY, Nov. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Aux Sable Liquid Products LP is pleased to announce a US$130 Million growth project that will increase the fractionation capacity of the company's extraction and fractionation facilities in Channahon, Illinois by approximately 24,500 barrels per day.
"The success of our Rich Gas Premium strategy, coupled with increasingly liquids-rich gas supplies coming from the unconventional Bakken, Duvernay and Montney plays, has resulted in higher heat content gas arriving at the inlet of our extraction and fractionation facilities in Channahon," said Tim Stauft, President & Chief Executive Officer of Aux Sable. "Aux Sable's expansion will allow us to process the new liquids-rich gas we've contracted post 2015."
Aux Sable's extraction and fractionation facilities in Channahon are currently capable of processing 2.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas and can produce approximately 107,000 barrels per day (bpd) of specification natural gas liquid products. The expansion will increase the natural gas liquids production to 131,500 bpd.
The fractionation expansion, which will be supported by long-term rich gas premium agreements, has a target in-service date of mid-2016.
Aux Sable's Rich Gas Premiums provide market access to rich gas producers in Canada and the U.S. that cannot be realized through conventional field extraction and local NGL sales. Aux Sable is strategically positioned and provides producers with competitive alternatives to access large, transparent, and premium growth markets for NGLs in the U.S. and internationally.
