Autovision Wireless Inc. - Press Release
TORONTO, Feb. 23 /CNW/ - Autovision Wireless Inc, today announced the first major sale of its Next Generation Telematics unit, the AV3000 NX. The contract, worth $3M, is to provide and install several thousand vehicle devices for a major telecommunications Company. The devices are to increase efficiency for technicians completing work orders and decreasing fuel costs through reduced idling. One of the additional major benefits is the significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions resulting from reduced idling and kilometers driven.
The AV3000 NX is Autovision Wireless Inc's 5th generation product and the first to be wholly designed, developed, and manufactured in Canada. The product has been certified to operate on Bell Mobility's CDMA network as well as on KORE's GSM network.
"We are pleased with the new features of this device - they address many of the requirements our customers have been asking for such as accurate odometer readings, fuel consumption, and a built-in CAN bus interface. The ROI of the new product is measured in just a matter of months", said Mukhtar Rahemtulla President & CEO of Autovision Wireless.
"We have listened to our customers in producing the AV3000 NX. The ease of installation and the very low power draw in sleep mode makes this attractive to our customers" said Elgin McMillan, VP Technology at Autovision Wireless Inc.
Autovision Wireless Inc. is a Toronto based Company that specializes in fleet management software and telematics. It has been in business since the early 1990s as a division of Bell and more recently as a privately owned enterprise.
