NEW HEATHER'S PICK
Indigo CEO and Chief Booklover Heather Reisman is announcing a new Heather's Pick for August: My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante.
A modern masterpiece from one of Italy's most acclaimed authors, My Brilliant Friend is a rich, intense, and generous-hearted story about two friends, Elena and Lila. Ferrante's inimitable style lends itself perfectly to a meticulous portrait of these two women that is also the story of a nation and a touching meditation on the nature of friendship.
Ferrante is the author of three previous works of critically acclaimed fiction: The Days of Abandonment, Troubling Love, and The Lost Daughter. With this novel, the first in a series, she proves herself to be one of Italy's great storytellers. She has given her readers a masterfully plotted page-turner, abundant and generous in its narrative details and characterizations, that is also a stylish work of literary fiction destined to delight her many fans and win new readers to her fiction.

NEW INDIGO SPOTLIGHT PICK
The Indigo Spotlight program introduces readers to a new standout title every month selected and curated by our expert book buyers. We're pleased to announce that August's Spotlight title is The Vacationers by Emma Straub.
The Vacationers centres around a family from NYC who takes a trip to Mallorca, Spain, to celebrate the 35th wedding anniversary of the parents, Franny and Jim. Along for the ride is their daughter, recent high school graduate Sylvia, her older brother Bobby and his girlfriend Carmen, as well as Franny's best friends, husbands Charles and Lawrence. This is the first time the family has spent time a significant amount of time together as adults, and, as anyone who has vacationed with their family can attest, it is not all blue skies and sunshine ahead.
If you loved Listen To The Squawking Chicken by Elaine Lui, Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple or The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach, Emma Straub's The Vacationers deserves a spot at the very top of your summer reading list.
