Atelka acquires call centre business in Atlantic Canada
MONTREAL, Oct 7 /CNW Telbec/ - Atelka Inc., a Montreal-based outsourced call centre company, announced today that it has acquired Davis + Henderson's non-financial services Contact Centre business that provides services to the retail and telecommunications industries. As a result, Davis + Henderson's Charlottetown site, staffed by some 350 employees, as well as its client operations, have been purchased by Atelka.

"This move strengthens our presence in Atlantic Canada and represents a key milestone in the implementation of our expansion plans and growth in new markets." Atelka currently also operates call centres in Quebec and New Brunswick. Today's purchase brings the total number of Atelka employees to approximately 2,500.
"As part of its global growth strategy in the Call Centre Industry, Atelka evaluated several acquisition opportunities over the past year," said Karam. "We chose Davis and Henderson because it is a good fit with our business and is aligned with our company's strategy and vision for growth and geographical expansion."
As a result of the acquisition, Atelka will now provide outsourced call centre service serving customers in both Canada and the U.S.
The sale took effect October 7. To help ensure a smooth transition for all customers, Atelka and Davis + Henderson will continue to work together over the next several months.
Atelka is a privately held Canadian company based in Montréal, QC. Founded in 2003, it has grown rapidly to become Canada's largest supplier of outsourced call center services to the Telecom sector, with existing sites in the provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick, along with operations in the Middle East and North Africa.
