Telematics, our latest mobile app can help put that argument to rest, save you money on your auto insurance, and, for a limited time, gives you a chance to win some great prizes.
The Telematics app (www.statefarm.ca/insurance/auto/discounts/telematics) is a 100% mobile auto insurance app that doesn't require the installation of a device in your vehicle. It can help to improve your driving behaviour, thanks to near-instant feedback of your behind-the-wheel habits. Telematics also offers features like the ability to compare results with friends and to share them on social media, as a means to encourage others to improve their driving habits and promote road safety.
Telematics can also save you up to 25% on your State Farm auto insurance in Ontario, depending on your driving. The overall discount is based on four criteria: driving smoothness (avoiding sharp acceleration, braking and cornering), speed, time of day and distance travelled. While the app is available for all to try out and use, Telematics for auto insurance is available in Ontario only for State Farm personal automobile insurance customers*.

From Monday, November 9 to Monday, November 30, 2015, any Ontario resident, 18 years of age or older (including non-State Farm customers) that downloads and activates the free Telematics app from the App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/telematics/id1041506268?l=fr&ls=1&mt=8) or Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.statefarm.telematics), or officially enrolls in the program by contacting their State Farm agent, will automatically be entered into the Are You a Better Driver Challenge Contest. You could win one of five Apple Watch wrist wearable devices, one of five Apple TV digital media extenders, or one of ten $100 gas gift cards.
Simply download and activate the Telematics app. You are under no obligation with no strings attached. Challenge a family member, friend or colleague to download and activate the app as well and share your scores and experiences on Facebook and/or Twitter using #telematicsapp, #telematics or #betterdriver.
