BAKERSFIELD, CA, July 20, 2015 /CNW/ - The innocent women and children, who were violently ripped from their peaceful homeland and herded into the filthy bowels of an illegal slave ship, could not have anticipated the cruelty that lay in wait for them on a malicious white slaver's plantation. In A Veil of Blood Hangs Over Africa, Lucia Mann completes her African Trilogy with a captivating tale of acceptance versus revenge, injustice in opposition to rectitude, and shame contrasted with dignity. You will be riveted by Mann's opposing themes, which she, herself, was trapped in as a young girl ensnared by a depraved South African master.
Yearning to be free is the overarching power of Mann's work. Rallying behind a cast of characters who risk so much for one more taste of freedom will enrich readers beyond measure. A Veil of Blood is a towering work that will expand horizons and touch hearts.
A Veil of Blood Hangs Over Africa tells its story through a myriad of absorbing characters:
