The visionary businessman will act as consultant for the new actively forward-looking festival
MONTREAL, Nov. 22, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Festival du rire de Montréal, born from the meeting of about fifty comedians seeking to reinvent the concept behind the comedy festival and whose philosophy is to establish partnerships with the most dynamic cultural players, is extremely proud to announce today that Andy Nulman will join the venture as a consultant.
Andy Nulman has marked the history of Quebec comedy by being, amongst other things, one of the architects behind Just for Laughs, for which he created and produced over 150 comedy television shows distributed worldwide. His relationships within the English-speaking comedy world of England and the United States, as well as his proximity to Quebec start-up leaders make him an exceptional ally to the mission behind Festival du rire de Montréal, which is to put the creativity of local comedians in the international spotlight.
"When the people behind Festival du rire de Montréal asked me to join them in order to create an exciting event with a forward-looking concept, I couldn't do anything but accept", says Andy Nulman, who currently holds the roles of co-founder and CEO of Play the Future Inc., while also being part of StartupFest's board of directors. "My role with Festival du rire de Montréal has less to do with my past professional experiences than with my desire to get involved with creative and passionate people who strive to reinvent the wheel and to deliver a new kind of innovative festival."
Andy Nulman has seen the birth and growth of all the great Quebec comedians, and he is known by the artists as a visionary, a luminary, and a leader who has the rare quality of being inspiring. His advice and his inventive spirit will serve as guides to always launch comedy creators further.
