TERREBONNE, QC, July 16, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As the peak of the summer vacation approaches, Quebec's water parks are recording spectacular increases in the number of visitors, due in part to the optimal weather conditions we have enjoyed since the beginning of the season.
"It is a remarkable start to the season compared to last year; everything is in place for a fantastic summer," according to Réjean-Julien Proulx, spokesperson for the Regroupement des parcs aquatiques du Québec (RPAQ).
The ideal weather conditions forecast for the next few weeks is a good indication that vacationers will be cooling off in great numbers in the various water parks' attractions. The large variety of facilities enables people of all ages to have fun with family or friends or in groups.
"With extended periods of nice weather, the number of visitors is evenly spread out over the days of the week, thereby avoiding congestion, to the great joy of park users," states Réjean-Julien Proulx.
Also, it is essential not to let the weather forecast influence us too much when planning summer activities. In Quebec, when the media call for a thunderstorm, it often ends up being a nice day. When we do have thundershowers, they are often intermittent and occur in the evening. So we shouldn't allow the weather to prevent us from fully taking advantage of our nice summer days!
Several new attractions in the parks are also contributing to their growing popularity. Nearly 10 million dollars was invested this year in the various parks. Visit their respective websites for further information about these new attractions.
Quebec's water parks attract approximately 1.7 million visitors every year and offer over 240 installations for users' pleasure. Moreover, they employ over 500 lifeguards to ensure everyone's safety in the various attractions.
