An electric vehicle charging station in Amqui - The Société immobilière Nord Sud joins the Electric Circuit Français
MONTREAL, June 19, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signature of a partnership agreement with the Société immobilière Nord Sud for the installation of a public charging station for electric vehicles. Visitors will soon be able to charge their vehicle in the parking lot of the Tim Hortons restaurant, which is scheduled to open in Amqui at 394, Route 132 Ouest in August 2014.
"We would like to thank the Société immobilière Nord Sud and congratulate it for its decision to install the very first charging station in the Vallée de la Matapédia at Amqui's brand new Tim Hortons restaurant, which is currently under construction," noted Mayor Gaétan Ruest. "For Amqui, a member of Québec's Villages-relais, this is certainly very good news."
"We are delighted to welcome the Société immobilière Nord Sud, a company committed to regional development," stated Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the partners of the Electric Circuit. "The Electric Circuit continues to expand its network in eastern Québec and the arrival of this new partner in the heart of the Vallée de la Matapédia corresponds well with our objective of meeting the needs of all electric vehicle drivers."
About the Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in vehicles in Québec.
The Electric Circuit has one fast-charge (400-V) station and over 250 Level 2 (240-V) charging stations in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since it was inaugurated in March 2012, 67 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. The network will continue to expand in order to offer greater geographical coverage and serve the largest number of electric vehicle (EV) drivers in many Québec regions.
Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
