MONTEBELLO, QC, Feb. 8, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, QC, the largest rock festival in Canada, is proud to announce that it has signed a partnership agreement with the Just for Laughs Group and La Tribu. This partnership will enable Rockfest to ensure its sustainability thanks to the management expertise and financial support of its two new partners. Alex Martel (Amnesia Rockfest), Gilbert Rozon (Just for Laughs Group) and Claude Larivée (La Tribu) are now the new partners behind Rockfest.
Alex Martel will continue to handle general management and programming for the event. "After building this event by myself for 10 years, I'm delighted to now be working with two experienced partners" said Rockfest founder Alex Martel. "They'll be able to assist me as we move forward with this adventure, while at the same time maintaining Rockfest's independence, integrity and identity."
"More than 35 years after creating my very first event in Lachute, I am pleased to help support the future of this industry" said Gilbert Rozon. "Young visionary entrepreneurs like Alex Martel fascinate me and that's why I jumped into this project very enthusiastically".
The Larivée Cabot Champagne Company (La Tribu) brings its expertise in producing shows and its many contacts in the entertainment business. "We are delighted to help Alex Martel, a passionate and brilliant young man, raise Rockfest to another level" said Claude Larivée.
These changes will improve the experience of festival-goers while maintaining the unique aspects that have made the event so well-known over the last decade. It's important to point out that the logistics teams in place, including P. Miron Consultants (Ottawa Bluesfest) and Orkestra (Ottawa and Toronto Brewfests), will remain in place.
"As mayor of Montebello and strong supporter of Rockfest, I couldn't be happier about this new partnership. This initiative is proof of how serious the promoters are and their commitment to provide a world-class event for those taking part. Montebello's City Council supports all initiatives aimed at making the festival more welcoming, innovative and structured for years to come" said Luc Ménard, mayor of Montebello.
The 11th edition of Amnesia Rockfest will be held in Montebello from June 23 to June 26, 2016. The festival will get underway with the Rockfest St-Jean opening night on June 23, followed by the two main days on June 24 and 25 and will close out with the official afterparty on June 26. Tickets are on sale now at www.amnesiarockfest.com/en. It's the last chance for fans to grab Early Bird presale tickets.
