AMERICAN IDOL XIV Debuts On Its Exclusive New Canadian Home

TORONTO, Dec. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - YES TV is announcing its winter premiere dates, featuring AMERICAN IDOL XIV, premiering Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 8:00 PM ET.

AMERICAN IDOL XIV, the original music show phenomenon, is back with a bang in its search for a superstar. The show launches its fourteenth season with a special, two-night, three-hour premiere event Wednesday, Jan. 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET) and Thursday, Jan. 8 (8:00-10:00 PM ET), on its exclusive new Canadian home, YES TV.

AMERICAN IDOL XIV features celebrity judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick, Jr. and host, Ryan Seacrest. The season kicks off the search for America's next singing superstar with auditions in Kansas City, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York, Nashville, and San Francisco.

YES TV recently had the privilege of talking to Keith Urban about AMERICAN IDOL XIV and some of the exciting new changes that viewers can anticipate. This season, Scott Borchetta, the man who discovered Taylor Swift, joins the show as a mentor. Urban also revealed that, this year, contestants get thrown into a live showcase atmosphere to test their ability as a performer before they move on to live TV.
