VANCOUVER, July 31, 2018 /CNW/ - American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP ("AHIP") (TSX: HOT.UN,TSX: HOT.U,TSX: HOT.DB.U) is pleased to announce that it has completed approximately US$1 million in renovations at its Hilton Garden Inn White Marsh hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. These renovations will provide guests with a more modern guestroom experience, including new window drapery, bedding, mattresses, couches, ottomans and televisions. In addition, the hotel's lobby area and meeting space were updated and the pool area was refreshed with new lounge furniture.
"This marks the completion of the first of several hotels we are renovating this year to upgrade and enhance the guest experience and better position our hotels in their respective markets," said Rob O'Neill, CEO. "Nearly US$20 million is scheduled to be invested in hotel upgrades this year, through pre-funded property improvement plans. We look forward to updating you as these projects complete."
Two other AHIP hotels will also have renovations completed in the next month – the Embassy Suites Cincinnati (Covington) and the Embassy Suites Dallas (Fort Worth). These renovations are extensive and will position these two properties as the latest in Embassy Suites' chainwide upgrade of 'next generation' hotels, with modernized lobbies, expanded bars, and more communal and digital desk space.
