MONTRÉAL, Sept. 18, 2026 /CNW/ -- Marking a record-breaking year on all fronts, ALL IN wrapped up its fourth edition yesterday in Montréal following two days of high-level conferences, hands-on workshops, and major announcements shaping the future of AI and tech in Canada and beyond.
Setting new attendance records, ALL IN welcomed 10,000 global AI leaders from 50 countries to advance AI security, explore real-world case studies, build international partnerships, and accelerate Canada's economic vision. Bringing together thousands of companies across key Canadian sectors, including healthcare, energy, aerospace, and manufacturing, alongside the country's leading tech providers, as well as Canada's top 100 AI startups, investors, and government representatives, the flagship event closed on a high note as organizers turn their sights to a celebratory fifth edition in 2027.
ALL IN reaffirmed its status as Canada's premier AI showcase, consistently maintaining a 50/50 split between AI solution providers and enterprise adopters. This balance directly accelerates the commercial adoption of ready-to-deploy homegrown AI.

The ALL IN 2026 program delivered a powerful mix of Canadian tech leaders and global executives from companies dominating the international market. Together, they tackled the defining issues of AI and tech, from building critical compute infrastructure and fostering public trust, to advancing more responsible open-source alternatives and forming global alliances that pave new paths beyond traditional market dominance. Sessions sparked important industry and policy discussions across emerging frontiers, including agentic AI, world models, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.

Coming just months after the launch of Canada's new national AI strategy, strong federal, provincial and municipal government participation underscored that AI is now more than ever a top priority for public leaders. Among them: Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (Government of Canada); Jenna Sudds, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and to the Secretary of State (Government of Canada); Rachel Bendayan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister (Government of Canada); Nate Glubish, Minister of Technology and Innovation (Government of Alberta); Rick Glumac, Minister of State for AI and New Technologies (Government of British Columbia) and Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Mayor of Montréal.
With AI emerging as a strategic differentiator globally, ALL IN serves as Canada's premier platform on the international stage. The event brought together global delegations from 50 nations, including senior government officials such as Omran Sharaf, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Sciences and Technology, alongside leaders from Brazil, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States.
Building on past recognitions of France (2024) and the United Arab Emirates (2025), ALL IN honoured Germany as the official 2026 Country of Honour. Karsten Wildberger, Minister for Digital Transformation and Government Modernization, led a delegation of more than 50 German executives to Montréal to forge new business partnerships and feature cutting-edge technologies at the official German Pavilion.
Headline Announcements for Safer, Sovereign AI
Over two days, ALL IN served as the launchpad for important industry announcements set to transform Canada's economy:
- As the risks of current AI trajectories become increasingly visible to the world, Yoshua Bengio's non-profit organization, LawZero, secured $300M in joint funding from the governments of Canada and Germany to pioneer next-generation AI safety solutions.
- Accelerating its push to rival global AI giants, Cohere finalized its business combination agreement with Germany's Aleph Alpha to become the first transatlantic sovereign AI solution, uniting over 1,000 employees across a dual-headquartered entity in Toronto and Berlin.
- Driving open-source AI development and adoption, Mila and Mozilla launched a new initiative backed by an initial $6M investment from Mozilla and Hypertec, alongside the Government of Canada, to build an open foundation layer empowering organizations to retain full control over their local AI systems and data.
ALL IN also brought back its signature reverse pitch competitions to source targeted AI solutions for pre-identified challenges, including two focused on municipal innovation. This year's honours went to Scentroid for the Smart Cities AI Challenge with the City of Toronto, M2M Tech for the Reinventing Citizen Experience Challenge with the City of Montréal, and Gray Oncology Solutions for the AI for Real Impact Challenge in partnership with Germany's Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation and the de:hub network.
