Alberta Enterprise launches initiative to support creation of new
Alberta-based VC funds
EDMONTON, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - Alberta Enterprise, a fund of funds manager investing in venture capital (VC) funds focused on knowledge based industries, today announced an initiative to support the creation of new Alberta-based VC funds.
Alberta Enterprise is actively looking for professional investors with a demonstrated investment track record and operational expertise with early stage companies to manage a fund headquartered in Alberta. The focus of the fund will leverage the competitive advantages of the Alberta economy and focus on such sectors as energy technology, clean technology, information technology or life sciences.
In order to support the creation of new Alberta-based VC funds, Alberta Enterprise is prepared to provide a lead investment order, investing alongside other Limited Partners. In addition, Alberta Enterprise is able to support with fund formation.
