LONGUEUIL, QC, Dec. 22 /CNW Telbec/ - Agropur's Board of Directors,
Canada's largest dairy cooperative, is pleased to announce that it has
acquired Main Street Ingredients, a leading provider of functional food
products and technical expertise to the food industry, located in La
Crosse, in the State of Wisconsin.
"This most recent acquisition represents a great fit with our current
operations and will allow us to keep building a strong foundation for
continued growth", reported Agropur's CEO, Pierre Claprood.
The operation will continue under the name Main Street Ingredients and
will be overseen by the current president, Bill Schmitz, who will
report to the Vice-president, Sales for Cheese and Functional Products
Division, Sylvain Melançon. "Main Street Ingredients is in direct line
with our strategic plan and will allow us to develop that specific
niche", added Mr. Melançon.
