Accord Financial Appoints Mr. John J. Swidler to its Board of Directors

TORONTO, Nov. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Accord Financial Corp. (TSX - ACD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John J. Swidler to Accord's Board of Directors.

Mr. Swidler is a Senior Advisor with the Montréal office of Richter LLP, a firm of Chartered Professional Accountants. He was the Managing Partner of Richter from 1996 to January 1, 2007 and was Chairman of the firm's Executive Committee from 1982 to 1996. Mr. Swidler graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and also received a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill. He obtained his designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant in 1967 and received his Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant designation from the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec in 1992.

Mr. Swidler is a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Dollarama Inc.; Lead Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Reitmans (Canada) Limited; and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Noranda Operating Trust, which supervises the Noranda Income Fund, and is a member of its Audit Committee, and its Governance and Human Resources Committee.
