VIENNA, Austria, May 30, 2016 /CNW/ - Acceleware Ltd. (TSX-V:AXE) today announced that it has added functionality to produce highly efficient reverse time migration angle gathers to its industry-leading AxRTM™ software package. AxRTM can now efficiently produce RTM angle gathers in both 2D and 3D data.
Angle gathers generated with reverse time migration are often desired to increase the quality of imaging and velocity model building in complex geological structures. However, it is a technique that is computationally expensive and many simplified implementations available today are too inaccurate to be effective. AxRTM's high efficiency angle gathers make velocity model updating with RTM a practical reality.
"Acceleware has worked closely with its partners to build a very cost effective approach to generating accurate RTM Angle Gathers," said Geoff Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Acceleware Ltd. "We always strive to implement the best functionality in our software and our high performance development expertise came through again. Estimating velocities in complex plays are very challenging. Combining AxRTM's high fidelity and efficient wavefield simulation with the ability to run fast and accurate angle gathers will help our customers to better estimate velocities."
Acceleware's AxRTM is the most efficient finite-difference reverse time migration software in the seismic market. It is a pre-stack two-way wave equation migration library with isotropic, VTI and TTI capabilities that uniquely supports NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors and multi-core CPU clusters. AxRTM provides seismic data processors with an economically viable reverse time migration solution. Advanced geophysical imaging features including dual TTI formulations for stability and speed, high quality imaging conditions, obliquity correction and innovative noise removal produce high quality images of exceptional detail.
