Acaveo Awarded Supply Arrangement from Government of Canada
OTTAWA, July 30, 2015 /CNW/ -- Acaveo today announced that it has been awarded a Software Licensing Supply Arrangement (SLSA) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for Smart Information Server (SIS) – The Company's award winning and leading File Analysis technology. SIS provides for operational insight and control of unstructured data and access rights.
A Canadian designed and developed solution, SIS is an important technology that will assist acquiring departments to achieve their most common information management objectives: Reduce the cost of storage, ensure compliance with a variety of policies and regulations including the Management Accountability Framework, clean up and manage SharePoint and email file stores and migrate more efficiently to the new consolidated data centres, GC-DOCS and the cloud.
Acaveo was awarded SLSA under the supply arrangement number EN578-100808/243/EE.
"Smart Information Server enables our customers to quickly and cost effectively gain a complete and detailed understanding of the fast growing and most costly type of data being managed: Unstructured data. The technology then allows for a wide variety of actions to be taken. This is particularly important for federal government organizations," said Ron MacDonell, CEO at Acaveo. "For security and compliance reasons the public sector needs a reliable technology that will give them visibility in all of their unstructured data across multiple repositories. Smart Information Server will make it fast and easy to search, analyze, report and manage this data in place. This SLSA award will enable Acaveo to engage more efficiently with Canadian Government organizations."
According to many top analysts, unstructured data growth for a typical organization is between 40-60% annually. As data volumes increase, it becomes more difficult to manage data. With the increase in need for control and visibility, government organizations are looking to File Analysis technology to rapidly characterize large unstructured data volumes and maintain operational intelligence over access rights and data characteristics.
