A Winning Week for PAW Patrol: Program Director Takes Home Prize at Canadian Screen Awards; Named Licensee Team of the Year from UK's Licensing.Biz
TORONTO, March 14, 2016 /CNW/ - Spin Master Entertainment's PAW Patrol received two new accolades last week: a Canadian Screen Award from The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, as well as top honours at UK-based from Licensing.Biz's People Awards.
Spin Master Entertainment's PAW Patrol was nominated in two categories and Ryder and the pups are proud to congratulate director Jamie Whitney, who took home the Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction in an Animated Program or Series. PAW Patrol, which airs in more than 160 countries and territories globally, is a partnership between Spin Master, Nickelodeon and TVOKids, animated in Toronto by Guru Studios.
Licensing.Biz held its People Awards in London, UK, where Spin Master's PAW Patrol team took home the top prize, Licensee Team of the Year. The publication noted Spin Master's "range of engaging and innovative PAW Patrol consumer products has helped to propel the brand forward resulting in it finishing 2015 as the number one new toy property within the UK market."
Since its launch in 2013, PAW Patrol has become one of the leading global preschool properties. Ronnen Harary, Co-CEO, Spin Master Ltd. and PAW Patrol Executive Producer, attributes the show's success to its positivity, "The pups truly have heart and their stories of teamwork, adventure and problem-solving are relevant and relatable for children and their parents. PAW Patrol's messages of optimism and empowerment are universal themes with global resonance."
PAW Patrol airs on Nickelodeon in the United States, in Canada on TVOKids.
