TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Toys"R"Us, Canada brought girl power to a whole new level with the launch of Winx Club fairies, a line of dolls modelled off the popular animated television series, Winx Club. To celebrate, more than 50 girls from across the GTA gathered at Toys"R"Us to spread their wings on a fairy magical adventure.

To mark the fairies' debut north of the border, Toys"R"Us transformed its Sherway Gardens store into an enchanted fairy land. Chosen through an online contest, attendees were fitted for Winx Club dresses, their own set of wings, had their makeup and mini manicures done, created fun floral flip flops and showcased their dance moves in the Winx dance studio.
YTV's WOW! Patrol also helped spread Winx magic, visiting a total of nine Toys"R"Us stores and various Canadian attractions throughout the summer. Winx Club fans can find the WOW! vehicles at their final tour destinations at the Canadian National Exhibition from Aug. 17 to Sept. 3 and the Pacific National Exhibition from Aug. 18 to Sept. 5.

Launched in Canada in 2011, Nickelodeon's Winx Club is a modern fantasy adventure series following six fashion-forward best friends - Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa, Tecna and Aisha - who attend the finest fairy school in all the realms, Alfea College. When trouble arises, the Winx Club transform into beautiful fairies and use their unique magical powers to fight villains and save the world from evil. Fans can catch the show on Nickeolodeon Monday through Friday at 3 p.m. and on YTV Sundays at 10 a.m.
