A Dramatic and Historic Change of Government In Alberta
CALGARY, May 7, 2015 /CNW/ - On May 5 Albertans chose to end a 43-year Progressive Conservative dynasty by electing a majority NDP government under Premier-elect Rachel Notley.
"The Progressive Contractors Association of Canada congratulates Premier-Elect Notley on her decisive election result," said PCA President Paul de Jong. "We look forward to working with her government and we will seek positive and productive engagement with the government of Alberta."
"Clearly Albertans have endorsed dramatic change in our government leadership. What that means for working Albertans — and particularly for PCA members in our highly important construction sector -- remains to be seen."
Referring to Premier-elect Notley's promise of "a more prosperous future for every Albertan in every community," de Jong said that, "as leaders in progressive construction in Alberta and across Canada, PCA and its 91-member companies are passionately committed to building a better future for Alberta workers, families and communities."
"Our members' contributions can be seen across this province in its public and energy infrastructure, and in the prosperity of its skilled and unionized members. PCA will continue to seek positive and productive engagement with the government of Alberta."
