A conference to re-imagine journalism in Canada - putting the public in policy
MONTREAL, March 15, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Journalism Strategies asks two questions: what do we as citizens need from journalism, and what do we need to do in order to get it? The conference takes place in Montreal, April 19th - 21st. It features leading thinkers and media practitioners from Canada and abroad, including: Tony Burman, currently Velma Rogers Graham Research Chair in News Media and Technology at Ryerson University and formerly of CBC and Al Jazeera English; Kai Nagata, blogger and journalist who quit his job in mainstream media to develop a new business model; and OpenFile founder Wilf Dinnick. They will offer their ideas on how public policies can support journalism that supports democracy. For more details or to register, please visit www.journalismstrategies.ca
