To toast the warm weather, Toronto's fine dining establishment takes service to the next level with a series of events aimed at offering their patrons more
TORONTO, March 20, 2012 /CNW/ - In anticipation of April's spot prawns and May's white asparagus, the crown jewel of Harbord Street will host a series of special events with some of the country's top chefs and winemakers.
"The onset of warm weather is always an inspiring time at Splendido," said Carlo Catallo, General Manager. "While we create new recipes sourced by local, in-season ingredients, we wanted to find a way to share this excitement in a compelling way with our guests."
Running from March until June, the program will kick off with a series of wine and beer pairings and will culminate with an exclusive, eight-course chef collaboration menu.
The Winemaker Series
Each event will feature winemakers handpicked from some of the country's most awarded wineries. Highlighting a spring-inspired palette, the multi-course tasting menus will be expertly paired with a variety of wines from barrel samples, library, and exclusive bottles. Each winemaker will speak to the style, process, terroir, and character that inspire their portfolio.

The Chef Collaboration
June 5: Toque Restaurant
Chef Victor Barry will host a special eight-course meal with Toque Restaurant's Chef Normand Laprise and Chef Charles Antoine Crete. The evening will be presented in alternating courses in an effort to prove wrong the old idiom: "too many cooks in the kitchen."
