MONTRÉAL, Sept. 12, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - On September 11, 2018, Groupe Prével celebrated its 40th Anniversary at Station F-MR with more that 600 invitees.
A family business founded in 1978, now with more than 100 employees, Prével's history is characterized by a vision that merges innovation with a deep love for Montréal, and a genuine mission to protect access to property and to counter urban sprawl, all while leaving a legacy of built heritage that promotes diversity.
For 40 years, Prével has initiated projects and neighbourhood revitalizations, and built more than 11,000 homes, earning the company several distinguished awards, including that of the Governor General of Canada. In the last fifteen years alone, the total value of Groupe Prével's Montréal real estate projects is more than $2 billion.
A pioneer of landscaped roofs and urban chalets, deeply motivated by a sense of community and a genuine desire to encourage human interaction, the company is known for its ability to optimize space and for its outstanding customer service. Prével is committed to integrating public spaces, green spaces, services, and local businesses into its projects, in order to contribute to neighbourhood revitalization efforts. In addition to building co-ops on site and having given land to the City of Montréal in central neighborhoods, Prével has contributed nearly $6 million to the Social Housing Contribution Fund over the last ten years.
This celebratory year for Groupe Prével's 40th anniversary is also an opportunity to pay homage to its founder, Jacques Vincent, and to its Co-President, Jonathan Sigler. As such, Laurence Vincent, who succeeded her father on January 1, 2018, will be sharing her story of being a daughter, a leader, and an influential woman looking back over Prével's 40 years amid Montréal's rapid development, in a book published by Éditions du Septentrion, launching on October 30.
"When I look back at the Prével's history, I see a positive impact, both on people's lives and on Montréal's landscape. I am fortunate to be at the head of a company that promotes and cherishes human values, and I am grateful to Jacques Vincent for having had the audacity, in 1994, to share the leadership of Prével with someone so different in terms of interests, expertise, and origins. This is something we do not talk about often, but our cultural differences are a strength for Prével and are representative of Montreal's rich diversity." - Jonathan Sigler, Co-President, Groupe Prével.
"I am very proud of the competent, brilliant, and rebellious men and women that have been working in this company all these years. I am also proud to know that our residents are part of our city's pulse. They put down roots in Montréal, they walk the streets, and they use the parks. They densify the city, stimulate mobility and the economy, and make Montréal more dynamic. We can all see the positive impacts ourselves: the denser the city, the more residents we'll have out walking the streets, encouraging businesses, taking in cultural events, and making the city more attractive than ever. By bringing people into the city, we can dream of making it even more vibrant. It's one thing to open shops, offices, and encourage economic development, but without the people, the city is just an empty shell." - Laurence Vincent, Co-President, Groupe Prével.
"40 years ago, I set out to make my own contribution to society, with freedom and enjoyment. This is how Prével was founded. Since then, we have worked to revive abandoned buildings, contribute to the preservation of heritage, transform obsolete urban spaces, and restore life to the city through housing. I think we are making a real difference for our city's history and leaving a lasting legacy. More importantly, we are encouraging first-time home buyers with prices that -at all cost- allow Montréalers to be owners in their city." - Jacques Vincent, Founder and Shareholder.
