TORONTO, Dec. 8 /CNW/ - The family of the late Christopher Skinner today announced a $25,000 private reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) involved in the murder of their son and brother who was viciously attacked and killed in Toronto's Entertainment District in the early morning hours of October 18, 2009.
27 year-old Christopher Skinner was savagely beaten and then run over by a black SUV near Adelaide and Victoria Streets around 3:00am after attending his sister's birthday party. As many as four people are alleged to have been involved in the attack.
The reward is being raised through private donations by family, friends and acquaintances of the Skinner family, in the hopes of encouraging someone to come forward with information needed to solve the case.
The private reward follows news of a $50,000 reward offered by Toronto Police Services.
To qualify for the reward, witnesses must provide a full statement to the police and testify at the trial of anyone who may be charged as a result of the information provided. A formal written contract will be prepared. The reward is payable only if all conditions set by the Toronto Police Services Reward are met. If more than one person qualifies for the reward, the money will be divided.
Payment of the private reward is subject to the same conditions as those for payment of the TPS reward. TPS or any of its employees are not responsible in any matter whatsoever for determining whether or not the private reward shall be paid.

Contributions to the reward fund can be made by sending a cheque or money order to Warren Skinner in Trust at 195 Main Street South Newmarket Ontario L3Y 3Y9. If the reward is not paid out all funds contributed will be returned.
