2014 National Philanthropy Day and Excellence in Philanthropy Awards: AFP-Quebec pays tribute to the commitment of exceptional individuals and organizations Français
MONTREAL, Nov. 12, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - This Friday, November 14th, media representatives are invited to the 2014 National Philanthropy Day organized by the Quebec Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-Quebec), which will take place as of 11 :00 a.m. at the Omni Mont-Royal Hotel, located at 1050, Sherbrooke Street West in Montreal.
The AFP-Quebec will welcome as speakers two inspiring patrons who build our future, Mrs. Sheila Kussner, Founding chair of Hope and Cope and Mr. Pierre Lassonde, President of Franco-Nevada Corporation. A tribute will also be made to Mrs. Phyllis Lambert, Founding Director Emeritus of the Canadian Center for Architecture, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the development of our society.
The 2014 Excellence in Philanthropy Awards will be presented on this occasion, recognizing the exemplary commitment of organizations and individuals who by their involvement in the community contribute significantly to the betterment of our world.

The recipients of the 2014 Excellence in Philanthropy Awards are:
- Award for Outstanding Volunteer of the Year: Andrée Robert and Jacques Chartrand, Giant Steps and EMERGO Foundations
- Award for Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year: Marie-Berthe and Yves Des Groseillers
- Award for Outstanding Corporation of the Year (over 250 employees): Groupe Jean Coutu (PJC) inc.
- Award for Outstanding Corporation of the Year (less than 250 employees): Bijoux Caroline Néron
- Award for Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (18 to 35 years old): Executive Committee, "Let's Bond" event
- Award for Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (less than 18 years): Éloïse Beaupré
- Award for Outstanding Philanthropic Career: Marc Weinstein, Vice-Principal of University Advancement, McGill University
- Award for Jury's Pick: Karen Lévesque Cahill and Maire-Ève Trudel Vibert, coordinators of La Saucette for Opération Enfant Soleil
