2014 Bud Light Digital Dreams Festival premieres a fully integrated technical solution to concert-goers in Canada
-- Combined mobile app, RFID wristband technology, cashless convenience and social media initiative to debut at June event --
TORONTO, April 23, 2014 /CNW/ - Electronic Nation (www.electronicnation.ca) -- the electronic music division of Live Nation, the world's leading entertainment and e-commerce company -- is pleased to announce the introduction of a groundbreaking technical innovation platform, which will change the way concert-goers experience music festivals in Canada. The organizers of 2014 Bud Light Digital Dreams Festival have partnered with technology systems innovators, Intellitix (www.intellitix.com) and Greencopper (www.greencopper.com) to create a one-stop technology platform which will debut at the upcoming EDM event on June 28 – 29th at The Flats at Ontario Place, in Toronto.
Reshaping the event horizon
A global provider of RFID (radio frequency identification) environment for live events, Intellitix is the first company to fully integrate a cashless payment system with access control and social media RFID technology. Intellitix's unique cashless payment system, IntelliPay, enables a convenient, secure experience for the event goer that requires just a single RFID device such as a wristband.
Greencopper -- the world's largest provider of innovative technology solutions to music festival organizers – has created a unique mobile app that will guide Digital Dreams Festival fans through the entire festival experience: before, during, and after the event.
The combined technology platform will offer fans a completely new festival experience, eliminating of the need for cash for all onsite event transactions, increasing guest security and provides an unparalleled ability to engage, interact and keep abreast of all Festival announcements. The one-stop technical solution catapults Digital Dreams onto the world stage of concert experiences, to date found only at such international events as Bonnaroo and Coachella.
"We're very proud of our leading role in offering fans such a uniquely engaging festival experience, and one which will become the new norm for concerts in Canada," said Mark Russell, marketing manager, Electronic Nation, Canada. "Never before have fans had such complete and immediate access to all the elements that make our event one of the country's fastest growing and most exciting festival experiences."
Intelligent ticketing and payment
Admission to this summer's event is enabled by RFID-embedded wristbands purchased online and activated by Intellitix; the wristbands also allow fans to benefit from IntelliPay and purchase food, beverages and concert merchandise onsite, including topping up their accounts negating the need to carry cash. The same wristbands also allow concertgoers to engage through social media channels including Facebook, and Twitter, and encourage the posting and sharing of concert experiences in real-time.
"The Digital Dreams Festival gets bigger every year. Adding our groundbreaking technology into the concert experience is a natural progression, and a first for Canada," added Cam Schweider, COO, Intellitix Inc. "Fans will have so much more engagement, not only with the music but the total event experience, and each other. It's really a game changer."
An app-propriate way to get more out of the Festival
The premiere of the all-new Digital Dreams Festival mobile app created by Greencopper introduces a complete set of functions including the full festival schedule and line-up, photo and video content and sharing options. Its interactive platform encourages users to share their experiences via their favourite social media platforms without leaving the app.
Available on iOS and Android platforms, the app's most noticeable features are the integration of Soundcloud allowing discovery of participating artists, their music and past performances, an Adaptive Discovery screen, NFC (Near Field Communication)/RFID cashless payment and onsite social interactions, a Fun Photo Booth, a customizable Favourites and Agenda organizer and a What's On interactive area. The Adaptive Discovery screen gives fans a dynamic mosaic of photo thumbnails for participating artists, and updates through the event phases. The cashless payment and onsite interactions feature negates the need for cash at the event and offers the ability to pair Facebook identifiers with wristbands to enjoy additional onsite services. The fun Photo Booth allows fans to get creative with their selfies by using screen overlays, to create portraits to share within the app and on Facebook. The Favourites and Agenda organizer lets fans personalize their festival lineup and share it on Facebook and Twitter, and the What's On interactive area notifies festival attendees what's coming up or what's happening at a particular moment, all updated in real-time.
"Electronic Nation has provided us with the perfect forum to showcase our cutting-edge and versatile customized mobile app," explained Gwenael Le Bodic, CEO, Greencopper. "Never before have Canadian music fans had so many resources at their fingertips. This changes the concert experience entirely. Fans will be immersed in the Digital Dreams experience."
