BORDEAUX, France, Oct. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Consultant and oenologist Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of Château Angelus, is working in close collaboration with Château Cheval Noir, a Saint Emilion Grand Cru, owned by the Mähler-Besse family.
Famed oenologist Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of Château Angelus, has been brought on board to provide expert advice to Château Cheval Noir and contribute to the vineyard's excellence. De Boüard and the vineyard have a shared history: Hubert's father worked for Cheval Noir in the 1950s. The new partnership has resulted in the creation of a "very tight wine with silky tannins and elegant but not overpowering oaky notes" (2011 Gault & Millau Guide), reflecting Mähler-Besse's high standards and its dedication to creating exceptional wines that awaken the palate and mind, from vintage to vintage.
Château Cheval Noir: A Prestigious Vintage
Cheval Noir's name first appeared in 1895 and is among the oldest in Bordeaux. The property was acquired in 1937 and was the Mähler-Besse family's first. Composed of 100% Merlot, Château Cheval Noir epitomises Mähler-Besse's philosophy: a marriage between unwavering dedication and knowledge gained over a century. Produced according to stringent standards and with unbending passion, Cheval Noir wines offer connoisseurs the perfect blend of pleasure, charm, and elegance.
